My Story

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-Associate) in the state of
Texas. My academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Education with a concentration
in biological sciences from the State University of New York at Fredonia, a master’s degree in
Education from Long Island University in Brooklyn, and a second master’s degree in
Professional Counseling with a specialization in marriage, couples, and family therapy from
Texas State University. With over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across educational and community settings, I bring a broad and informed perspective to the counseling process.

Prior to joining MHC Group, my professional path included teaching in schools,
museums, and informal learning environments. Over time, I transitioned into leadership roles,
where I provided professional development, strengthened community partnerships, and served in
director-level positions. These experiences have shaped my deep appreciation for connection,
collaboration, and the power of supportive relationships.

In my counseling work, I strive to create a warm, empathetic space where clients feel truly seen
and heard. I offer therapy for children, teens, and adults—supporting individuals, couples, and
families navigating relational challenges, life transitions, grief, anxiety, and depression. I
integrate evidence-based approaches that foster emotional connection and insight, while
highlighting each client’s unique strengths. Together, we explore patterns, perceptions, and
emotional experiences that may be contributing to distress, with the goal of creating meaningful
and lasting change.Originally from New York, I’ve lived and worked in several states—including Arizona and Florida—before planting roots in Texas. Austin has been home since 2012 and is where I’ve built my family.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and our dog—often outdoors at a park, pool, or hiking trail. I also love reading, discovering new music, and exploring different cuisines.

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”
— Maya Angelou, Letter to My Daughter (2008)
