About Ty
As a sixth-generation Austinite and former professional baseball player, I bring a varied life experience to my work with individuals and couples. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), with a strong background in treating substance use disorders and helping people navigate relationships, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My own path has shaped my appreciation for the challenges of identity, change, and starting over.
I want therapy to feel like a natural conversation, with room for humor, honesty, and being yourself. Often, what begins as talking about everyday life opens the door to understanding deeper patterns and working through what’s underneath. I bring curiosity, perspective, and thoughtful questions to help you find answers that reflect your own needs and values.
My approach draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Imago Relationship Therapy, while integrating other evidence-based methods to fit each person and relationship. There is no cookie-cutter formula for this work. Whether we’re exploring the different parts of yourself, rebuilding connection with a partner, or understanding the role substance use has played in your life, we’ll work together to turn insight into meaningful change.
